It just occurred me that women were basically just tolerated as a necessary evil in androcentric cultures. Even emotionally meaningful and intimate relationships and eroticism between men were often seen as preferrable and superior. women were considered inferior beings, basically slaves or even organs that had somehow rebelled and separated to become independent organisms.
If these societies had the technology to make the otherwise irreplaceable roles of women obsolete, the men would have tried to prevent girls/women or anyone who isn't a masculinefrom even being born, I suspect.
