breathing down your neck.
The glorious percussion of steel and concrete.

All the leavings stain your eyelids
and you will always be here in your soul.

The site of your city leaves you passionate and repulsed, filling you with a yearning to go and see what the world is doing.
The cacaphony seeps into your brain so it is never still.

Your bones dance to its tune, your nerves slink along the side streets.
Your heart beats in time to the hammers of industry.

You can't wait to be gone.
