But, when the sun comes up in winter, we barely catch his grin. It's still dark and gray. The snow kisses the glass, and I remember piling cigarette ash, while my arms crisscross on the windows pane. Breathing out marshmallow thick reels of smoke, defining my lungs and my waiting heart, wondering why. Instead one goes missing, and instead of milk cartons, our faces are behind wine bottles and beers. Cus all our friends are too damn old. We're just wasting years. Waiting til the fire dies so my shadow doesn't have to keep chasing after me, begging me to dance. Cus he's tired of being alone.

I remember when my lungs were virgins to the night. When fire was merely an exotic dancer, hiding behind curtains off stage. My lips in awe, from leaves leaving branches, like the angel's nine day decent during the fall. I fell to highlights and vibrant colors of moonlight, kissing through the trees down to my eyes. Lying silence, kissing curves of my teeth. I can still taste the earth in my fingers. Teaching me the definition, of flight.

Sometimes when I close my eyes, I awake to my real life. 'Cept I'm on the east coast, small town nobody. But, I still love somebody, I still have somebody. I met her when I was twenty five, but there I was 35, ten years makes a difference. Makes me wonder where I'll be in five years. Will It still be dreams, or vision made reality? I see her in people 'round me, and wonder if she really real, or merely just a feeling. Deja Vu tattoos and Deftones, I'm still listening,for the verse that made me start imagining. . . "I took you home, and you moved away". . .

Step into the darkness. I take off my face. I shed my scales. Sell my spirit to the breeze. A brew for the moon. Firefly in these winter wind sheets. Blue diamonds kissing lungs, filling my belly. Menthol lipstick, and I'm still wide awake in this phantom dream. I'm realizing the questions I couldn't fathom. And my father, he catching up with my release. Singing sense to the morning showers at 4am. Letting go of my ghost, burning off my things. I can tell, mama's still praying. Killing my monsters.

Like my tongue playing tag. Hide and seek. I'm speaking for the weak. I'm waiting to feel the shine. Goosebumps and kind, take the hit, dial dialogue catching genres in their minds. Paragraphs I erase and rewrite. Just to murder time. I'm awakening a brainstorming session of my life
