a deaf friend once told me this joke:
Q: how do you sell a duck to a deaf person?
A: (lean in closer and yell very loud) YOU WANNA BUY A DUCK???
...when deaf people are actually trying to yell, they yell really really loud because they have no idea how much noise they're making :)
