First morning of Summer frosts soon melted. Drove into the Sierra and ate my lunch at Mt. Rose Pass: 8,911 feet or 2.716 km above sea level. 51(f), windy, deep snow on both sides. Did not go for bike ride; took a walk and gawked at marvelous vistas, and Lake Tahoe shone vast before me, ringed by shaggy green forests and snowy peaks. The heat arose as I returned home; the valley floor is countless mirrors of shattered granite and quartz, a perfect convection oven. 91 degrees read the thermometer on the porch. Swamp cooler on full, we await sunset around 9-ish, then warm twilight.
Happy Solstice, my bold friends~~~
