Even back then, Einstein's famous equation looked relatively simple as a formula, yet was really hard to grasp as a concept.
Three adjectives come to my mind when reflecting on the course of young Albert's acceptance.
To me, it is idiotic how hard the conservative  accomplished academia fought an essay with a 20-year-old's humble findings, ironic how quick it became relevant everywhere and iconic how stubbornly it remains as major topic and  trope in our times. They who ridiculed first will be ridiculed later. Don't mind the nationalistic mockers of  "Le beau temps".
