125 years ago, to the day, in Secunderabad, Sir Ronald Ross, while dissecting the stomach tissue of an anopheline mosquito, fed four days previously on a malarious patient, disco-vered the malaria parasite.
In 1902 he was awarded the Nobel Prize for Medi-cine “for his work on malaria.
