Twelve years ago today, an event occured that forever changed the direction that my life was to go. Everything that had been thought out, planned and provided for so that it would happen became like so much dust in the wind. Everything became as worthless as the paper it was written on. I had had only five weeks to prepare for this event but a lifetime would not have been long enough. It was impossible. It can not be done in ten lifetimes. For you see? I was in the process of taking care of a very special woman and helping her as cancer slowly took her life. She was my wife, Sharon Lynn Sims. She lost her battle with this terrible disease 12 years ago today. Her passing set me adrift on the sea of life. It seems that I still drift 12 years later...
